cast glass, multi-glazed soft brick
This architectural tile is loosely referencing the figure and explores the dichotomy between the interior and exterior in terms of societal expectations. For example, grievers are expected to have a mask of happiness even while navigating dark spaces. People want us to be okay even when we aren’t not. While I know it comes from a place of love, it isn’t about what anyone wants. I certainly don’t want to be in this space. I did not choose this, and I won’t choose to hide behind a mask. It’s okay that I’m not okay 💙
